During your visit to the Marineland Côte d'Azur Animal Park, take the opportunity to visit the Lagoon. With its large panoramic windows, you will be able to admire the skills of the Bottlenose Dolphins and seals. Harbour Seals are a little-known species of French wildlife, yet they are very endearing. Gently and discreetly, approach the tank to observe these shy animals, perhaps they will offer you the privilege of a shared interaction.
The little noises and "clicks" that you can sometimes hear are none other than the dolphins who use their sonars or vocalisations to talk to each other!
This lovely space is where the animal keepers are waiting to entertain you with their "Lagoon Presentations". These are more intimate moments during which you will discover even more about these extraordinary animals. You will learn that the Bottlenose Dolphin is an opportunistic hunter. They prefer to eat fish, but will also eat squid, octopus or crustaceans (crabs, shrimps, etc.). Their feeding habits differ depending on, amongst other things, their habitat, the season or the age of the individuals.
Like all of Marineland's pools, the lagoon is supplied with natural seawater. The lagoon holds 4 million litres of seawater and is divided into three sub-pools.
The Lagoon is located past the Orca Fjord and this is where the optional activities, such as Dolphin Encounters and VIP Visits take place.
